MN Northwest Sportshow

Wild Wings of Oneka is one of the best kept secrets in the metro. Our experience sets us apart from other clubs and we have been in operation since 1956 making us the oldest hunting club in the state of Minnesota. We have a long, rich history and we have been providing hunting for four generations.  Becoming a member at Wild Wings offers many great opportunities. Many avid sportsmen just don't get enough hunting during the regular seasons. Wild Wings provides an alternative to hunt when it works for your schedule.

Our unique shooting preserve is very different than most. We cater to our members and their guests needs, who are seeking upland hunting at it's best. Our fields are made up of 14 different hunting areas, which are farmed but not harvested to make up exceptional cover. All of our fields are diverse in nature, some being flat while others offer more of a woodsy experience. This diversity provides a variety of challenging shooting conditions to cater to all types of hunters regardless of experience or physical abilities.

Members and their guests are encouraged to bring and use their own hunting dogs. The performance of a well trained dog is truly a pleasure in itself. Members can also choose one of our 40 experienced guides. Our guide service offers you a variety of pointers and flushing dogs. Wild Wings' guides are provided with annual seminars regarding hunting techniques and the latest safety for our fields. Our guides and dogs are required to qualify annually to be able to guide our members.

Our hunting season runs from September 1st through April yearly. No licenses are required to hunt at Wild Wings.  We offer many packaged hunts. You may choose one of our packages, add to it and/or customize your own package/event.

Wild Wings of Oneka is environmentally conscious and has been for many years. We wish to preserve our natural resources for generations to come. We require the use of Non-Toxic Shot. No Lead shot is allowed in our fields or on our clays courses. Our Clay targets are biodegradable and non harmful to our environment.

YOUTH HUNTING
Wild Wings is a place for all levels of hunters. We encourage and support the development of youth through outdoor skills.   Apprentice Hunter Validation program is available in Minnesota and provides youth or an adult the opportunity to try their hand at hunting without a FAS certificate. In other states this is often called a Hunter Education Deferral Program. This program enables an individual who is normally required to have a Firearms Safety (FAS) certificate, but does not have one, to try hunting for a year under the supervision of a licensed adult hunter.

Ready for a fast action shoot? Experience our European style hunting or Euro Shoot. This style of shooting was developed in Europe where Beaters drive the birds out of fields off higher points of land, the birds then fly out over the guns at a high rate of speed and distance. The shooters are placed at stations around this area. Now this type of shoot may sound easy for a good shooter, but at Wild Wings we designed our stations with a wide variety of different shots, making each station a new challenge. Dog handlers are placed around for the retrieval of downed birds. Contact us for the next scheduled Euro Shoot.

 SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

Share the gift our great American hunting tradition with a soldier returning from overseas deployment who has missed a hunting season while defending our rights.  On March 14th, 2010, the National Guard's 34th Infantry Division, the "Red Bulls" return early 2010 from deployment and the Yellow Ribbon Networks of Stillwater and Hugo are organizing a pheasant hunt at Wild Wings for up to 42 soldiers, so of whom are returning from their 3rd Deployment.  Please show your support by sponsoring a soldier.  Contact us.
